Louis Vuitton …. Louis Vuitton …. Louis Vuitton ….
Who doesn’t love the way that name rolls off the lips? I certainly do.
This amazing house of fashionable luxury goods has fascinated me ever since I was a little girl exploring my mom’s handbag hideaway. Wow, what an awakening it was to run my fingers over Louis Vuitton’s stunning Epi leather bags – they felt like luxury made flesh. I’ll never forget it.
This season, I’ve snapped up my own Louis Vuitton NéoNoé Bucket Bag in Coquelicot red Epi leather with Cyan blue detailing. They say this bag was designed to hold five bottles of Champagne – well, I guess I’m about to test that claim!
Created in 1985, the Epi collection of LV leather goods, inspired by a grained leather used by Louis Vuitton in the 1920s, was the brand’s first leather line. Before that, LV’s tough-as-nails canvas held sway. And we all love that one, n’est-ce pas?
Epi leather was developed to meet the demand for a durable leather covering that could withstand somewhat less than gentle handling during travel. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vuitton, from the bottom of our collective hearts. Such a perfect product!
This stunning leather features a graphic two-tone, horizontal effect that makes it immediately recognizable as a Louis Vuitton original. LV’s process entails imprinting an intensely dyed leather, to which a special coloration is applied. The result is an amazingly durable, resistant, vibrant, and flexible surface that can handle all weather (and social) conditions with aplomb.
So what does one pair with a beautiful LV Epi leather Bucket Bag? How about big, huge, gigantic, pretty large bell-bottom pants in a killer mustard yellow? Yes, I was pretty sure you would say that.
And to keep those late-evening setting-sun rays at bay? Why Ray Bans, naturally. With Louis Vuitton, might as well have the best.
My shoes? I went with the hot and sassy flesh-tone platform pumps by Christian Louboutin pictured just below. Can you blame me?
This is an evening at the beach I will remember for a long, long time. Hat tip, Louis Vuitton!
